The fractal shapes in this video remind me of the exquisite industrial art created by metal spinners. Metal spinning is thought to be one of the oldest art forms that manipulate the shape of metal. Developed in either ancient China or ancient Egypt, metal spinning and other lathe work were practiced by most industrialized societies including the Vikings. Even Paul Revere was an expert metal spinner.
If you ever find yourself with a few moments of spare time, go to YouTube and search for “metal spinning” videos. They are mesmerizing. In the meantime, however, please enjoy my latest video.
